SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONSPROBLEM SOLVING TEAM MEMBER & TEAM LEADER CLIENT RELATIONS PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEFounder and Owner of Web Interactive Consulting, Austin, TX 2001 - Present
TIVOLI SYSTEMS, Austin, TX 2000 - 2001 · Defined and formalized the Inside Sales Group (ISG) system processes including issue resolutions, requirements, release schedules, change management, technology, testing, implementation and deployment. · Served as liaison between ISG, Marketing, IT and IBM project teams providing a forum for open discussions and feedback, resulting in continued improvement in the tool, process and an increase in the number of qualified sales leads generated. · Designed a "closed-loop" sales tool to manage 2nd tier business partner opportunities. As a result, within 6 months $28M was being tracked as pipeline revenue and $1.1M as closed 2nd tier revenue. This level of data was a first for Tivoli Systems Sales & Marketing. · Completed three major enhancements to the ISG lead management tool: GRANT THORNTON LLP, Chicago, IL 1995 - 2000 HUMANA, Louisville, KY 9/99 - 3/00 · Defined and Wrote Functional and Detailed Requirements · Created, Designed and Implemented Database · Developing Business Logic National Association of Realtors, Chicago, IL 12/98 - 9/99 · Designed the class framework for the entire E-Commerce application. This platform or hierarchy consists of 3 levels and contains Net Dynamics 4.0 and Java 1.2 applications. It was designed to be expandable and integrate reusable objects between the different languages. · Designed, created, implemented, and tested Oracle 8 PL-SQL procedures that perform all business logic for the Member Invoicing application of the E-Commerce platform. The reason why all business logic was put into procedures was to have a single source of code. A Net Dynamics application and a Java batch process then used this logic. I was able to create procedures that can interface with Net Dynamics or Java. Before this project, I had no prior knowledge of PL-SQL or procedures. During this project I self-learned PL-SQL and became very proficient with Oracle procedures. · Created, implemented, and tested a Java batch process that sent member-billing notices to each member or creates a report of all member invoices for their manager. This batch process queried a request table and ran nightly. A manager would request either to send out billing notices via email to all members or request a report be sent to himself. · Helped the client stabilize a Net Dynamics 3.0 on-line membership application. This application needed many enhancements and bugs to be solved in a short amount of time. I was able to solve all outstanding issues, implement a version control system, and improve communications between analysts, management, and developers. Meridian, St. Louis, MO 8/98 - 11/98 · Helped project team design and implement a new, system-wide incentive program application. This application makes use of N-tier architectures consisting of Java for the back-end processing, Sybase Jaguar as the middle transaction server, and a Power Builder GUI. Oracle was used for the database. · Design, implement, and test Java classes. These classes server as the only interaction between the GUI and the database. They also provided the generic logic that could run on any type of front end. EmCare, St. Louis, MO 5/98 - 7/98 · This firm was in the process of separating from its parent company. The goal was to take all the functionality of their current system and move it to the newly formed company. This system was made up of many undocumented applications and programs. My tasks included documenting all the pieces of the system, moving each application to its new location, and trouble shooting the entire system. · The system was one that could not have any downtime, due to the 24-hour turn-around time for bills. Worked with other consultants to provide insight as to how and what needed to be moved. AgriBank, St. Paul, MN 6/96 - 3/98 · Incorporated client ideas to define business and design requirements for an application that allows for local and remote users to distribute documents via print, fax, and e-mail seamlessly to other branches or customers. This application uses object-oriented design that allows the data to come from the database or user input. The application was developed with this "generic" mindset to allow for easy interoperability between all independent business units. These class libraries were developed using SQL Windows and a third party tool (JetForms). · Created documentation and workable templates that act as a tutorial, explaining the detailed processes in customizing class libraries to fit specific needs within different business functions. This will significantly help the current and future staff of the client when implementing similar applications in the future. Helped the client's local and remote technical support team solve problems. Trained employees on using JetForms and the class libraries I designed. · Redesigned an existing application used to view summary and detailed loan data. This redesigned tab application dramatically increased performance due to the functionality of the class libraries I created. These libraries can be used to increase performance in any potential application that accesses a database. Also, created reports for each individual tab. Development was done using SQL Window, Report Windows, and SQL Base. · Acted in a consultative capacity to help client define requirements and created a database replication application to assist remote users connecting to the network. Once connected, the GUI interface allows users to easily map to another server and download zipped database files. These files are then unzipped and loaded to their local database. This application integrated SQL Windows and Windows 95 DialUp Networking. Federal Aviation Administration, Oklahoma City, OK 12/95 - 3/96 · Led the efforts in redesigning an existing application that automated a data dictionary for a database, which had over 300 tables and 4500 fields. Developers and end users throughout the Agency use the data dictionary. · This application will enhance the user's ability to write SQL statements and find the data that they are looking for. The new design improves performance, the viewing of information, and increases user friendliness. System features include dynamic searching and drag drop capabilities. Development was done using PowerBuilder 4.0 running against Oracle 7.2. TASS Independent, Englewood, CO 8/95 - 11/95 · Developed the system interface, and reporting functionality to allow users to obtain an array of complex financial information. The interface allows the user to select from various report types and to set the options for each report. The application utilizes a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) for all data processing. The system was developed using SQL Windows, ReportWindows, and SQLBase. EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN, Austin, TX |
