Company Visual Identity & Message

Quick – Your website only has a few seconds
to convince a visitor to stay. Does your website convince them?

A website is a visual representation of your company’s products, services and message of your business. The “visual identity” of your website is a component of a larger Internet marketing strategy. This look will be included in other website design elements such as layout, navigation, images and the overall flow of the site. While the visual identity includes these elements, it is more than the sum of the individual parts. Rather, it is the emotional reaction that is generated even before the visitor has had time to read a single sentence.

Consider that most visitors to a web site spend only a few seconds before making the decision to stay or leave. The visual identity of your web site should therefore promote the product or service being offered. Think of it as an interactive brochure. Although there are an infinite number of nice, clean layouts one could choose from, certain styles appeal to a certain types of consumers. It is extremely important that your site seizes the interest of your target visitors within seconds of opening the page.

The visual identity is your window of opportunity to deliver a message, though one not necessarily conveyed in words. It might include the way a subtle parchment background on a lawyer’s website is reminiscent of the U.S. Constitution. Or, perhaps, the way a black backdrop reminds the visitor of velvet as he shops for a diamond engagement ring. Certain details may pass unnoticed in the visitor’s mind, and yet, may provide a critical subconscious element that compels him/her to stay, even if the visitor could not explain exactly why.

What we call the “Visual Identity” is the first impression, which is made up of colors, images, shapes and the overall look and feel. It might even include a few text words.

The visual identity & message of a web site also includes developing a seamless relationship between a company’s print publications and its online website. This sense of continuity is important to consumers, who have come to expect a consistent “look and feel” whenever they interact with a particular company. Ideally, a visitor should experience a similar emotional reaction whether he walks into your physical storefront, reads a brochure or browses your website.

Web Interactive Consulting will work closely with you to develop the visual identity and message of your site. We can work with you at any level—whether you are starting from scratch, or already have well-established themes that simply need to be applied to your web site. Having a single brand or theme that is one in the same for your website, your brochure or your letter head, has a positive impact on potential customers.

Drawing upon our extensive experience in online marketing and web design, Web Interactive Consulting can convey the precise visual identity that captures the personality of your company—and makes sure the website offers that same personality.

Process

We have a meeting in person or over the phone to discuss your company, products or service, goals, customers, etc. Then a first draft is produced and emailed to you. This begins an iteration process. By the time we are done, you will eventually approved of the Visual Identity. The next step will be to put this new look into your website, into your print material and into your company.

Pricing

This type of service is difficult to provide exact estimates, as this task/service is a subjective one. A rate of $150 per hour will be used and minimum of 3 or 4 hours will be incurred - not sure how this process can be completed less than 3 hours.
